Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing exceptional service to patients during critical health moments.
- In this role, the PSR II draws high-quality blood samples and prepares them for lab testing, ensuring adherence to established safety and clinical protocols.
- This position involves direct interaction with patients in a compassionate, professional manner, fostering trust while clearly explaining procedures.
- It requires excellent phlebotomy skills, leadership behaviors, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Assignments may include physician offices, patient service centers, or other designated healthcare locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities under supervisor direction with accuracy and timeliness.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and professional environment.
- Collect and process both clinical and forensic specimens per protocol.
- Accurately verify and label specimens in the presence of patients.
- Maintain proper documentation and patient records.
- Uphold company commitment to excellence and patient confidentiality.
- Travel between locations as needed, sometimes with short notice.
- Support a high-volume workflow with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred (REQUIRED in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections – REQUIRED.
- 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment – Preferred.
- Prior customer service in retail or healthcare setting – Preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.

- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

- Proven customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Adaptability to change and high-stress situations.
