Position Summary:
- The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, performing quality blood draws and specimen preparation for lab testing while maintaining patient trust, safety, and confidentiality.
- The role emphasizes process excellence, accuracy, and professionalism in a patient-facing environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection activities accurately and on time.
- Prepare and process specimens following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation for patient samples.
- Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, colleagues, and the public.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection as directed by supervisor.
Adapt to flexible scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Proficient in keyboarding/data entry.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
