Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections.
- Collect and process specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Obtain blood specimens via indwelling lines.
- Perform limited CLIA-waived testing.
- Enter and release laboratory orders.
- Resolve specimen identification and order issues.
- Contact patients for repeat collections as needed.
- Prepare specimens for transport to alternate testing sites.
- Perform EKGs, breath alcohol testing, drug screen collections, spirometry, and culture setup as assigned
- Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist with training new employees and students.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience with direct patient contact.
- Inpatient Phlebotomy experience required.
- High-volume blood draw experience required.
- English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- ASCP Certification preferred.
