Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
- Explain procedures and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following proper procedures.
- Provide coverage at multiple locations across varying environments (PSC, IOP, Mobile, LTC, etc.).
- Lead on-site activities as needed, supervising one or more Phlebotomists.
- Mentor, coach, and provide onboarding for new employees and clients.
- Act as the point of contact for staff on-site and report to the group lead or supervisor.
- Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Lab Testing, IT, Billing, Logistics) for complex orders.
- Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic training) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Required Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
