Position Overview:
- The Phlebotomist II / PSR II serves as the frontline representative for patients, providing quality blood specimen collection and ensuring accurate processing for laboratory testing.
- This role combines clinical skill, patient interaction, and administrative accuracy while promoting trust, safety, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Assignments may vary across patient service centers, physician offices, or other clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw blood specimens safely, accurately, and skillfully from patients of all ages (pediatric, adult, and geriatric).
- Prepare and label specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain signatures post-venipuncture to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain documentation and required records with precision and compliance.
- Demonstrate professional, courteous, and empathetic communication with patients, peers, and supervisors.
- Promote a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all health, safety, and company protocols.
- Travel and rotate between multiple locations, including patient service centers and physician offices, as needed.
- Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, exercising judgment in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in training, process improvement initiatives, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or healthcare preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with multiple priorities.

- Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as staffing needs require.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if travel is required.
- Strong judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
- Patient-facing, high-contact environment requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- May involve travel to multiple sites on short notice.
- Must maintain a professional, patient-focused demeanor while performing duties efficiently.
