Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the front-line representative of our organization, providing critical support to patients seeking routine care or undergoing essential health testing.
  • The PSR II is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and ensuring accurate specimen preparation for laboratory analysis.
  • This role requires a strong blend of technical phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and exceptional patient communication.
  • Successful candidates may be assigned to work in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other healthcare settings, based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process blood specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Perform specimen verification and ensure labels match patient information in their presence.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and create a comfortable experience.
  • Ensure all specimens are collected safely and in compliance with company protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and logs.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality, error-free performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Travel to other locations as needed with short notice for coverage.
  • Uphold the company’s standards for confidentiality, safety, dress code, and customer service.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive company image.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)
  • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
