Job Summary
- We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Tallmadge, OH.
- As a Patient Services Representative I (PSR I), you will serve as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing specimen collection and processing duties.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection procedures using established phlebotomy techniques and protocols.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient information and maintain specimen integrity throughout the collection process.
- Explain collection procedures to patients and help create a comfortable, trusting environment.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information while ensuring confidentiality.
Adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards at all times. - Work independently while managing daily responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrate professionalism and promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Support organizational goals by exhibiting leadership behaviors and a commitment to process excellence.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.Certification is required for candidates working in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
