Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The PSR II serves as the face of the company to patients, assisting them during routine health visits or critical health decisions.
  • This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and maintaining a professional, trustworthy environment while explaining procedures to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under area supervisor guidance.
  • Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  • Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
  • Verify patient demographic info, including initials and patient signatures post-venipuncture, confirming tube labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

  • Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.
  • Make decisions based on established procedures using good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Ability to travel and work at multiple locations on short notice.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Demonstrate superior customer focus, effective communication, adaptability to change, and business knowledge.

Training:

  • Locations may vary depending on trainer availability.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
