Job Description

Position Summary:

  • The PSR III represents the company as the first point of contact for patients.
  • This role requires drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring a positive, trustworthy experience for patients.
  • This floater position requires flexibility and travel to various locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled venipuncture and capillary blood collection, including on pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Prepare and process specimens according to established protocols.
  • Confirm patient identity and ensure correct labeling of specimens.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of patient interactions and samples.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build patient trust.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and confidential work environment.
  • Float between assigned locations with minimal notice, based on staffing needs.
  • Adhere to all company policies including dress code, health & safety standards, and operational excellence guidelines.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Retail or service industry customer service experience is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.
  • High attention to detail with ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in data entry and patient information systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have reliable personal transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, and manage competing priorities.
  • Floaters must be able to travel between sites and be on time at the assigned location each day.
