Job Description

Position Summary:

  • The ENTRY Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is a front-facing role responsible for greeting patients, assisting with check‑in, managing the lobby environment, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and develop phlebotomy skills, with full training provided to grow into a full phlebotomist position.
  • The ENTRY PSR I plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for patients while ensuring smooth clinic operations.
  • This individual helps answer patient questions, maintains lobby integrity, and provides coverage when other phlebotomists are on break.
  • Once trained, the candidate will perform specimen collection following established clinical and forensic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, providing assistance and answering questions with care and compassion.
  • Support patient check‑in using self‑service kiosks or handheld tablets.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and integrity of the lobby/waiting area.
  • Assist with workflow and coverage needs when phlebotomists are on break or unavailable.
  • Participate in learning and hands-on training to develop phlebotomy skills.
  • Once trained, perform specimen collection and processing following all required procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and required records.
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient confidentiality, organizational values, and a positive patient experience.
  • Work under the supervision of the area supervisor to complete daily tasks accurately and on time.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong ability to interact with patients with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
  • Comfort using digital tools for check‑in processes (kiosks, tablets).
  • Willingness and commitment to learn phlebotomy skills—this is essential to the role.
  • Ability to perform confidently once trained in clinical and forensic specimen collection.
  • Exceptional customer service skills—REQUIRED and central to the job.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Keyboard/data entry proficiency.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED

Work Experience:

  • 1–2 years of customer-facing experience – REQUIRED (Retail, hospitality, home health aide, or similar roles.)
  • No prior phlebotomy experience required
  • Data entry experience is required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have reliable personal transportation (bus, Uber, rideshare, taxi, or being dropped off does not qualify).
  • Must live within 20–25 minutes of the Plantation, FL location to ensure reliable commute.
  • Must be punctual, available for all scheduled shifts, and able to stay the full duration of each shift.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
  • Candidates must be willing to learn and perform phlebotomy.
