Job Description

Position Summary:

  • The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, interacting directly with patients who visit for routine lab work or critical diagnostic testing.
  • This role requires drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and maintaining strict adherence to established procedures and safety protocols.
  • The PSR I is expected to create a professional, compassionate, and trustworthy experience for every patient.
  • This includes clearly explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and performing venipunctures and other specimen collections accurately and efficiently.
  • The role also requires maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating strong organizational behaviors, and upholding process excellence standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all daily assigned activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following all procedures.
  • Collect high‑quality blood specimens, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to required standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and records.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and represent the company positively to patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • Provide excellent patient experience by fostering trust and ensuring safety.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to produce accurate, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexibility to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime as required.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality are mandatory.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
  • Required in: California, Nevada, and Washington

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience – REQUIRED
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience – Preferred
  • Customer service experience in retail/service environments – Preferred
  • Proficiency with keyboard/data entry is required

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates must list home city and commute time on resume. Commute should be within 20–25 minutes of the job site.
  • Candidates must have reliable personal transportation Ride‑share, taxi, bus, or drop‑off arrangements do NOT qualify as reliable transportation.
  • Must be available for all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the full shift.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
