Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring patient safety, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • This role requires direct patient interaction, professionalism, and the ability to create a comfortable and trusting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established procedures.
  • Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for testing.
  • Maintain required documentation and records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and clients.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability, leadership behaviors, and organizational commitment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Minimum 6 months direct phlebotomy experience (Required).
  • 1+ year phlebotomy experience (Preferred).
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification (Required in CA, NV, WA; Preferred in FL).
  • Strong pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability including weekends and potential overtime.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite (include home city/commute time on resume).
  • Rate based on years of direct phlebotomy experience (overlapping roles do not count twice).
  • Reliable personal transportation required (no bus/Uber/rideshare).
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and available for full scheduled shifts.
  • Excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination.
  • If currently a student, schedule must not conflict with assigned shifts.
