Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Phlebotomist I serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Patient Service Center, providing excellent customer service while performing blood draws and specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients with check-in and appointments.
  • Collect blood and clinical/forensic specimens accurately and safely.
  • Verify patient information and properly label specimens.
  • Prepare and process specimens for lab testing.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and records.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states).

Skills:

  • Strong phlebotomy skills (pediatric & geriatric).
  • Data entry and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Preferred:

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • 6+ months phlebotomy experience.
  • Retail or customer service background.
