Job Description

Position Summary

  • The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the frontline representative for patients visiting the facility, whether for routine testing or critical diagnostic needs.
  • The PSR I is responsible for collecting high‑quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures follow established guidelines.
  • This role requires building trust, providing clear communication, and offering exceptional patient care while performing phlebotomy tasks safely and accurately.
  • The PSR I is expected to exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, and strong process‑focused behaviors at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily work assignments accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection with confidence and compliance.
  • Collect high-quality blood specimens, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory analysis following set procedures.
  • Maintain all required logs, documentation, and records accurately.
  • Promote a positive image of the company when interacting with patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety while explaining procedures in a professional manner.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide accurate, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
  • Flexible and available to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
  • Must demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to stay for the full scheduled shift.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training – Preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
  • Required in: California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience – REQUIRED.
  • 1+ year phlebotomy experience – Preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment – Preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry proficiency – Required.
