Position Summary
- The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the frontline representative for patients visiting the facility, whether for routine testing or critical diagnostic needs.
- The PSR I is responsible for collecting high‑quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures follow established guidelines.
- This role requires building trust, providing clear communication, and offering exceptional patient care while performing phlebotomy tasks safely and accurately.
- The PSR I is expected to exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, and strong process‑focused behaviors at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily work assignments accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection with confidence and compliance.
- Collect high-quality blood specimens, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory analysis following set procedures.
- Maintain all required logs, documentation, and records accurately.
- Promote a positive image of the company when interacting with patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety while explaining procedures in a professional manner.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to provide accurate, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Capability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexible and available to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
- Must demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to stay for the full scheduled shift.
Required Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training – Preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
- Required in: California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience – REQUIRED.
- 1+ year phlebotomy experience – Preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment – Preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency – Required.
