Job Summary:

  • The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the face of our organization, providing exceptional service to patients seeking routine testing or critical diagnostic insights.
  • The PSR I performs high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation while following established procedures.
  • This role requires professionalism, strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming, trustworthy environment for patients.
  • Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain and update all required documentation and records.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and respect for confidentiality and patient information.
  • Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to maintain professionalism in patient-facing situations.
  • Proficiency with computers, keyboarding, and data entry.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (and required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant experience required.

Additional Job Details:

  • May work in various healthcare settings, including patient service centers, clinics, hospitals, or mobile environments.
  • Requires extended periods of standing and frequent movement between work areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed (specimen supplies, equipment, etc.).
  • Must adhere to all safety, compliance, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Training will be provided on company policies, systems, and safety procedures.
