Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company, welcoming patients for routine health visits or life-defining medical decisions.
- The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring all procedures follow established practices.
- This role requires creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients while performing phlebotomy skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality while maintaining accuracy in all patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.
- Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirements:
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of work experience; 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
