Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing a welcoming and professional experience for patients seeking routine care or critical diagnostic testing.
- This role involves skillful and accurate blood specimen collection, adherence to laboratory protocols, and the creation of a supportive and trusting environment for patients.
- The PSR I also demonstrates leadership behaviors, a focus on process excellence, and a strong sensitivity to confidentiality and the accuracy of patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect both forensic and clinical specimens confidently and skillfully following established procedures.
- Prepare specimens for lab testing and maintain required documentation and records.
- Provide a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and professionalism to patients, clients, and team members.
- Promote a positive image of the company and demonstrate strong organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexible and available to meet varying staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) – Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification – REQUIRED in California
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience – REQUIRED
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience – Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments – Preferred
- Strong keyboarding and data entry skills – Required
