Position Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health screenings or important medical decisions.
- This role is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures and safety standards.
- The PSR I interacts directly with patients, fostering an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
- The position emphasizes leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of required records.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Data entry experience required.
