Phlebotomist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision, performs routine laboratory activities including patient registration, venipuncture, specimen handling, data entry, and related laboratory support functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Process and transport specimens to the main laboratory.
• Complete laboratory documentation and data entry.
• Support clinic and laboratory operations as needed.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

Preferred Education:

• Completion of Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program preferred.

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Must have a valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver’s license and the ability to be insured by a Client Insurance Carrier.

Preferred Certification & Licensure:

• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training/certification.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of phlebotomy experience.
• Experience with straight needles.
• Ability to draw 20–25 tubes in a single sitting.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Basic computer skills.

Interview: In-person (30 minutes).
