Job Description

Role Summary:

  • The PSR I is responsible for drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while ensuring accuracy, safety, and excellent patient care.
  • This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, creating a professional, reassuring experience and maintaining confidentiality and trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) for clinical and forensic testing.
  • Ensure specimens are properly labeled, processed, and documented.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow all procedures and safety standards.
  • Provide courteous, high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently while meeting daily performance and time requirements.
  • Support a safe, professional, and positive clinic environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience (required).
  • Strong blood draw skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states).
  • Experience in customer service preferred.
  • Basic data entry/keyboard skills required.
  • Must be flexible for occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call needs.
