Job Description
Role Summary:
- The PSR I is responsible for drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while ensuring accuracy, safety, and excellent patient care.
- This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, creating a professional, reassuring experience and maintaining confidentiality and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) for clinical and forensic testing.
- Ensure specimens are properly labeled, processed, and documented.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all procedures and safety standards.
- Provide courteous, high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently while meeting daily performance and time requirements.
- Support a safe, professional, and positive clinic environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience (required).
- Strong blood draw skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states).
- Experience in customer service preferred.
- Basic data entry/keyboard skills required.
- Must be flexible for occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call needs.
