Job Description
Education / Training Requirements:
- Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program accredited by:
- CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) OR ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools).
- Completed Medical Assistant training through any branch of the armed forces.
- Hold a Medical Assistant certification from an organization accredited by:
- National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) OR American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
- Arizona (Client) Medical Assistant Requirement.
Must meet one of the following:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program.
- OR Military Medical Assistant training completed OR Certified Medical Assistant from an approved accrediting body (Must also have completed a Medical Assistant training program).
- Accepted Certifications (Active or Previously Active).
- AMCA – American Medical Certification Association.
- AMT – American Medical Technologists.
- AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants.
- NHA – National Health career Association.
- NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months of autonomous venipuncture experience (School/externship experience not considered).
- Must be comfortable with blood draws as the primary job responsibility.
Additional Notes:
- National Certified Phlebotomist (Phlebotomy) candidates will be considered.
