Position Overview:
- The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional service to patients seeking routine or critical diagnostic testing.
- This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed safely, skillfully, and in accordance with established standards.
- The ideal candidate will create a trusted, confident experience for patients while demonstrating strong process-driven skills, confidentiality awareness, and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Collect high-quality blood specimens from patients—including pediatric and geriatric populations—using safe and established techniques.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis, following all procedural and safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times. - Deliver excellent customer service and represent the organization positively to patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and necessary documentation.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold professional behavior that reflects company values.
- Remain flexible and available to support staffing needs—including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as required.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic (Preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred).
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments (Preferred).
- Keyboarding/data entry experience (Required).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
