Position Overview:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our organization, delivering high-quality care and service to patients during routine or critical health visits.
- PSR IIs are responsible for collecting and preparing blood specimens for lab testing, while ensuring accuracy, patient comfort, and adherence to protocols.
- This role demands professionalism, strong phlebotomy skills, and a high level of customer focus.
- Assignments may include a physician’s office, patient service center, or other healthcare settings based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary draws on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Verify patient identification and ensure tubes are labeled in the patient’s presence.
- Prepare and process specimens for clinical and forensic testing per established procedures.
- Maintain all documentation and patient records accurately and confidentially.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards at all times.
- Represent the company professionally and positively in all settings.
- Travel as needed to cover additional locations with minimal notice.
- Adhere to all company policies, including dress code and safety protocols.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws.
- 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred).
- Data entry and computer proficiency (Required).
