Job Summary:
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, the Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for performing daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment.
- The PSR I represents the face of the company to patients and ensures a high level of trust and confidence while explaining procedures, performing specimen collections, and processing samples for lab testing.
- The PSR I is tasked with following established practices and procedures to ensure quality, safe, and accurate work while maintaining sensitivity to confidentiality and patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform specimen collection and processing duties:
- Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
2. Maintain documentation and records:
- Ensure required records and documentation are maintained accurately and completely.
3. Promote a positive image:
- Demonstrate organizational commitment by creating a welcoming atmosphere and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
4. Work independently:
- Display the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
5. Flexibility:
- Be available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime when necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
- Flexible availability: Must be able to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Must maintain a reliable transportation method to get to/from work without issue (bus, Uber, or rideshare are not acceptable).
- Punctuality: Candidates must be on time and able to stay for the entire shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will lead to termination.
- Bilingual candidates must have a high level of proficiency in both English and Spanish.
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent is REQUIRED.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
